Twelve verticals (business intel, events, auctions, government, public safety, sports, real estate, ag, life events, tourism, legal, news + culture), each aggregated from public institutional and social sources with AI structured extraction, verified by a human byline, and distributed across newsletter + social + Fediverse + email + push channels with a tamper-evident cryptographic receipt ("signed cassette") on every article.

605Buzz is Adopter #1 of the Sizls Local reference pattern — a composed runtime stack + editorial model + hiring shape + weekly cadence that state-native discovery platforms inherit at ~85% code reuse. The replication path is 605 (SD) → 701 (ND) → 307 (WY) → 406 (MT) → 402 (NE) → 208 (ID) → other Northern Plains states → national → nation-clones → world-clones.
The pattern composes four real Sizls substrates:
- Pluck — universal ingest primitive with connectors + Ed25519-signed cassette receipts. Links to SD institutional and social sources under source-tier + robots policy signals; the per-source registry is an internal working artifact, not a public scraping schedule.
- Directive — constraint-driven runtime with reactive queries + agent orchestration. Every AI decision runs under a typed constraint graph that catches drift at compile time and at runtime.
- Sizl-broadcast — distribution + signed correction receipts. Every article fans out to newsletter + social + Fediverse; every correction propagates promptly per our published corrections policy.
- Kite — Cloudflare control plane + signed event log. Worker ingress, Durable Object runtime host, KV dedup, WebSocket hibernation, Ed25519 + BLAKE3-256 Merkle event log.
Editorial model
AI aggregates; a human decides. Every article passes through a
5-gate pipeline — ingest → extract → aggregate → draft → human
review — before publication. The AI is the aggregator; the human is
the byline. No editorial-team catchalls; every article's
byline slug names a real person.
The current phase is solo-founder (Jason Comes). An Editor-in-Chief hire is targeted with an SD-native or SD-diaspora sourcing preference. Full-team headcount grows as revenue milestones + hiring readiness allow — specific timing is aspirational and subject to change.
Timeline

- Vertical 1 launch (targeting late 2026) — business intel launches. First AI-drafted human-approved articles ship.
- Verticals 2-5 (targeting 2026 Q4 / 2027 Q1) — events, auctions, government, public safety verticals launch on a rolling cadence.
- EIC hire — targeted for a later phase, timing dependent on revenue + hiring readiness. Editorial cadence expected to grow after the hire lands.
- Mobile app + agent-native API — targeting the year after EIC lands.
- Second-state clone — targeting after SD is at a sustainable operating cadence (701 ND is the current sequencing candidate).
